Breakpoint Lifestyle Project (BLP) was formally registered with the Department of Trade and Industry on April 6, 2015 from its former name Breakpoint Fitness and Lifestyle Coaching Services. Breakpoint Lifestyle Project is a trademark owned by RKCJ Fitness Coaching Services and is located at Valenzuela City.
The business model, coaching system, administrative system, and full service realization started around 2007. Despite of its late entry in the industry on 2015, the unique system that they were implementing has been on practice for the past 7 years, the trial-and-error years of Breakpoint.
Unlike other business studies, the Breakpoint initiative (as the author called it) was not truly made to be owned by the author himself. It was perfected for the purpose of creating a unique business model to be offered to people/investors who have the resources to put it up. Also, this business did not have the intention monopolizing the market for this specific line of service. The author's desire was to establish a new "industry" within the industry where many players could compete in order to lower its cost so that more people could afford it.
Shortly after several shortrun deals and other consultation projects, the author realized that the project will never unleash its full potential if the funding will come from other people who along the way would only try to put their hands on the system and alter them. So with the limited resources on hand the author started the company and ran it on its own.
The original goal was very simple, and that is to make complete fitness and lifestyle service affordable to all. Along with this simple but specific goal is the objective to come up with a system of service where all working Filipinos, regardless of their salary, could afford to enrol themselves. That was the time when the vision of the company emerged.
BLP thought that by giving more employees the chance to improve their health and lifestyle, the Philippine workforce could possibly evolve towards having healthy, inspired, and more productive employees. From then, the simple goal of BLP began to take place. .
BLP's intention became even more significant when the company observed and realized that most of the benefits employees get from being employed have something to do with future needs. Needs such us retirement pension, "possible" hospitalization, and future housing loans.
The big question back then was, "what benefit or constant program employees get which has something to do with prevention from sickness or being hospitalized?, that would motivate or help them save more from their average salaries and be able to buy a house or send their children to better school?, a benefit that would prevent them from retiring in poor?, a benefit that would help them improve their lifestyle, status, and a benefit that would help them persist in improving at work physically, mentally, and emotionally, and a benefit that they would enjoy now and prepare for a better future.
So with all these questions, BLP saw that there has to be a program that would possibly help them improve the way they look not just at the future but most importantly, the present. The author thought that there might be another benefit companies should or could give their employees to prevent them from growing like robots in their workplace, only to realize after thirty years in service that they have not really done the best for themselves.
BLP was so certain that there is truly a need for this kind of program, especially today where most of our employees do not realize the effect of their lifestyle on their future. For the past 3 years in operation, BLP was able to prove that indeed, their fitness and lifestyle program works upon adoption by several government agencies, schools, private companies, and others. Until today, BLP is working on expanding the scope of their market and they never stop looking at the possible industries who are in need for such service.
Breakpoint Lifestyle Project does not claim that they change the lives of all their clients, because at the end of the day, the decision to do so falls on the client. What Breakpoint does is basically consistently reminding their clients that life is not all about money, it is not all about getting that top position, and it is not even about leaving such "legacy". For BLP, life is about living, fulfilling our responsibilities to provide for our families and to the people we love, giving our employers the benefit of satisfaction for hiring us, and also, taking care of our personal lives, our bodies which most of the time are taken for granted.
At present, BLP is even more determined to influence more lives and contribute in transforming our nation's manpower towards healthier and lifestyle-conscious industry by continuously improving the industry's system and services and attracting more firms to be part of this vision to establish the Philippines as the most health-conscious economy in the world.
